Following a number of events held to look at the current Single Point of Access for mental health support for children and young people, a proposal is being formed to try and address the current difficulties in the system to improve timely access to appropriate support.
The attachment below shows four models that have been considered, the advantages and disadvantages of these and the beginnings of a fifth model which best fits the needs in Gateshead.
If you would like to give any feedback on the model you can either send this directly to Gail Balance, Project Manager Community Mental Health Transformation, gail.ballance1@nhs.net or to me Julia.Perry@connectedvoice.org.uk before 8 December.
Gail is also keen to speak to young people and parents of children and young people who may have tried to access or have accessed services to get their feedback on the model. If you are in contact with people who would be interested in speaking to Gail, please contact her directly.
