Handcrafted Projects

Handcrafted is a charity which works alongside those excluded from society who long to turn their lives around, but need opportunities, mentoring and practical help.

We work with people who have multiple and complex needs, including homelessness, mental health, offending and drug, alcohol & substance abuse. At our Gateshead Hub, we offer meaningful and empowering training and experience doing woodwork, cookery, barista skills, crafts, sewing and HDPE recycling. Through this we teach both practical and social skills.

Our breakfast café ‘The Shakey’ is open weekdays from 9 -12 (last food orders 11.30), and we offer a free community lunch on weekdays at 12
