About Us

FoodCycle Overview

FoodCycle is a national charity committed to combating food waste and alleviating food poverty. By rescuing edible surplus food and transforming it into nourishing meals, we bring communities together and promote sustainability. Our innovative social kitchens provide a welcoming space for volunteers and community members to connect, share skills, and make a positive impact.  Volunteers will volunteer with us and help us to run a food project as either a cook or a host, and no training is needed.  Your never on your own, you will be part of a team while volunteering.

We have Nine food projects in the North East in Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough, anyone is welcome at each project.

Mission Statement

To reduce food waste by transforming surplus food into nutritious meals, foster community engagement, and support social inclusion through volunteer-led efforts and sustainable practices.  At each project we turn the food into a delicious three course meal.
