MHA Communities Gateshead West

We are a community based scheme offering support services to older people who are socially isolated or unable to get out and about as they used to. Our services aim to help people live later life well in their own homes, encouraging older people to take an active part in the communities in which they live. We work across Blaydon, Winlaton, Rowlands Gill, Chopwell, High Spen, Greenside, Crawcrook and Ryton. We run several groups across the area including lunch clubs, exercise classes, coach trips and befriending. We offer a variety of activities within these including fitness sessions, arts and crafts and speakers who can provide information on benefits and health.  Additionally we deliver a one to one volunteer  befriending service to those who cannot leave their homes. All our work is supported by a dedicated team of trained staff and volunteers.
