Trustee Treasurer

We are responsible for the maintenance, improvement and hire of a building for a variety of community activities which currently include: Yoga, Dance, Art, Karate, Youth Club, Day Centre, Choir, Pilates, Weight Management, WI, and Crafts.  We also hire the hall for private parties and events.

About the role:

We're seeking a positive, dedicated Treasurer to join our board of trustees to help steer the charity's financial and strategic direction.

The role also requires the Treasurer to manage day-to-day financial activities including the hire of the hall.  You'll work closely with fellow trustees and volunteers to ensure that our elderly building continues to be viable for the future use of our community as their needs evolve and change.

Ideally, we would like someone who is a finance professional or someone with similar experience who is familiar with the systems we currently use - Quickbooks and Microsoft 365 and with the requirements of the Charity Commission.

Skills needed

A strategic thinker able to balance risk with opportunity

Someone able to produce forecasts and budgets

A clear communicator able to make financial information meaningful for non-finance colleagues, particularly for our regular meetings

You'll also contribute to the wider governance and strategic leadership of the charity.
