Gateshead Crisis and Resilience Advocacy

This funding will enable Connected Voice Advocacy to work with Gateshead residents who are facing multiple and complex financial challenges including debt, poverty, family breakdown.  An independent advocate will support people to:

• Understand their rights and options
• Communicate effectively with service providers
• Challenge providers when their rights are not upheld
• Access practical support with debt, housing, fuel and food
• Deal with forms and correspondence and navigate complex processes
• Develop their ability to advocate for themselves.

 Who do we help?

We help adults living in Gateshead experiencing or at risk of financial crisis, require support to make their views and feelings known and who are vulnerable. E.g.

• Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic community  
• Mental Health needs  
• Learning Disabilities  
• Physical Disabilities  
• Older people  
• Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and/or Transgender  

This service is supported by Gateshead Council through the government funded Crisis and Resilience Fund.
