Ryton Cross Community Society Ltd

RCCS is a community benefit society that owns Ye Olde Cross pub in Ryton. The first and only community owned pub in Gateshead that has received national awards from both Plunkett Foundation and the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

With over 500 community shareholders, we have an ongoing refurbishment plan for the building and regularly hold community events.

The pub operation is leased to a Tenant who runs the pub as a traditional 'Free House'. The function room and 'snug' are available for private functions or for other community organisations to hold their own charitable activities.
