We are looking for people who have lived experience of homelessness to train and health advocates to support people currently experiencing homelessness to access all forms of healthcare.  This means supporting them with GP's, Hospitals, diagnostic and testing, walk in clinics, sexual health support, mental health support, drug and alcohol services.  We also help with secondary care, things like opticians, podiatrists and dentists.

It can mean helping them to get to arrange appointments, supporting them with travelling, and then going into appointments where appropriate to ensure that their voice is heard, that they are listened to, and all their questions are answered.  This is a very rewarding role and our current team of advocates really enjoy helping clients to improve their overall health.

A comprehensive training package is provided to all trainees, together with support from more experienced advocates.  We also provide equipment like smart-phones, tablets, laptops, credit, bags and clothing.  You will get support from the #HealthNow team day to day and regular on-the-role training.  Many of our advocates go on to get paid work in the homelessness and health sectors.
