Event volunteer, MECC (Making Every Contact Count)

This volunteer role will support the deliver of the MECC events and meetings (Making Every Contact Count) through Public Health service within Gateshead Council.

This role will feed into the services being delivered by Public Health while hosting events.

This volunteer role is likely to involve:

• Helping to set up the Melissa Bus when attending set events.  The bus can attend events and have information on board 
  • It would involve setting out leaflets 
  • Capturing any questions 
  • Signposting residents to particular pieces of information on board the bus
  • Handing out leaflets to residents out side of the bus  
  • Assisting the public health lead with any other tasks. 

Information about each of the events will be communicated with the volunteer through the volunteer coordinator of this role. The volunteer is welcome to attend any of the set events that they are interested in can attend. 

The volunteer is not expected to attend every public event.  Each volunteer will have different skills and experience that they would like to develop so will all be recruited and assessed on an individual basis.
