About the Role

Community Volunteers are the heart of our charity. These roles are perfect for people who want to help others in practical, meaningful ways — whether that’s handing out essential‑item bags, supporting children with school supplies, welcoming people at a coffee afternoon, or simply helping someone fill out a form.

As we begin our work in the west of Gateshead, your role will vary from week to week depending on community needs, events, partnerships, and outreach programmes. Every task, big or small, contributes to building a kinder, more connected community.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Helping at community events and sessions
  • Supporting essential‑item distribution to families and individuals
  • Assisting with fundraising activities and charity collections
  • Meeting and greeting community members at drop‑ins
  • Helping people with simple tasks, such as filling in forms
  • Working alongside partner organisations and local initiatives
  • Offering kindness, support, and a friendly presence

About You

  • Kind‑hearted and motivated by helping others
  • Friendly, reliable, and willing to try different tasks
  • Comfortable engaging with people from all backgrounds
  • No experience required — just compassion and enthusiasm
