The Rowlands Gill and District Community Centre operates as a charitable organisation run entirely by friendly local volunteers.

Activities - we provide a wide range of services and activities for the local community including Yoga, Line-Dancing, Gibside Singers Ladies Choir, Day Centre, Chose2lose, Slimming World, Pilates, Gibside Art Club, MHA Live at Home Club, Women's Institute, Mature Movers Dance Fitness, Messy Play Group, Youth Club, Karate and the Bolbec Life Drawing group. In addition we hold monthly fund-raising activities such as fayres and concerts to ensure that the Community Centre Hall is maintained. Our members are drawn from a wide area ranging as far as Blaydon, Whickham, Consett and Pruhoe.

Hire the hall?  The hall is available to hire at reasonable rates for a variety of events including birthday parties, comedy nights, sit-down meals, afternoon teas. With seating for up to 75 people and a kitchen at your disposal, why not consider hosting your next event with us?

Volunteering?  We have a healthy group of happy and willing volunteers we can draw upon for all sorts of help for the community and the hall.  We always welcome new volunteers and provide suitable training and support to enable them to carry out their functions.  If you are interested in helping, just get in touch. For more information on volunteering, read our Volunteers Handbook by clicking here.

How to find us? We are located near the bend about half way up Strathmore Road, Rowlands Gill, NE39 1JB. There is a small car park at the front of the building.  The building is not staffed on a permanent basis but is open whenever an event is taking place.  Full details of all activities and information about how to book the hall can be found on our website.
