Newcastle and District CHA & HF Rambling Club

If you enjoy fresh air, beautiful and varied scenery; to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city into the quiet of the countryside; the sound of birds, running water, and wildlife, then why not join our group. Membership is open to all ages and abilities, although a reasonable amount of fitness is required. We will provide the conversation and social capital, and have been told on many occasions that we are very friendly and welcoming.

We offer three days walking. Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays and some bank holiday Mondays of 5-7 miles.  Wednesday's are usually at a slower pace.  Generally, we use public transport from the Newcastle area to local areas, although occasionally we organize a special coach further afield - to such areas as Yorkshire, Holy Island and the Lake District. 

Additional Information:

• Transportation for walks is organized from a central Newcastle pick-up location.
• All walks will have been pioneered beforehand.
• All walks have an experienced leader.

We arrange a program of socials on Saturdays from the beginning of October to the end of March which are held in Brunswick Methodist Church, Newcastle (city centre), in the afternoon. Apart from a few pence for a cup of tea and biscuit, there is usually no charge.
