Foundations Furniture Project

Foundations Furniture was established in 1996 (charity number 1090034) and offers low-cost recycled furniture and electrical items to any household in Tyne in Wear experiencing hardship.

We avoid having a strict eligibility criteria due to the many different circumstances that households can face which lead to hardship. If you or someone you know in Gateshead is experiencing furniture poverty, we're here to help. 

Foundations also offer a range of new beds and mattresses too. Our new items are available to anyone, and all sales of our new beds help to support our charity.  

Our showroom is open every weekday excluding bank holidays, between 9am and 4pm. No appointment necessary. 

We collect unwanted, usable furniture free of charge too, from across Tyne and Wear, to help people in hardship.
