We meet every Wednesday morning 10.00-12.00 but this can be flexible and dependent on the weather during the winter months.  We work between the border opposite the Japanese Garden and the Reflection Garden.

The Reflection Garden consists of a lot of shrubs, ferns, grasses, perennial flowers, Phlox, Rudbeckia etc which involves pruning back, tidying, clearing under shrubs and removing dead, diseased and damaged plants.

I am quite happy to have more volunteers, not necessarily with garden knowledge but prepared to learn and who enjoys being out in the environment.

The Border opposite the Japanese garden consists of a wonderful selection of tall perennials in summer but the hard work comes in the Spring tidying, cutting back, deadheading, weeding, digging, getting rid of invasive weeds, a more hands-on garden but also beautiful in Spring with a wonderful display of springtime flowers. Marion would like, if possible, volunteers with some garden knowledge if possible.  It would also be helpful if they owned a trowel and fork.

Benefits for the Volunteer

A great way to meet new people, learn new skills and make a great contribution to Saltwell Park.
