Description: This volunteer role involves:, , meeting a client at their home and accompanying them on a walk and to a local coffee shop, having a good level of fitness, developing a good relationship with your client, being positive and encouraging, engage in conversation, liaising with the project co-ordinator to provide updates on the progress of the client, providing a written brief of client development, , The role will also require volunters to:, , adhere to the relevant policies and procedures of Age UK Gateshead particularly in relation to guidance regarding, health and safety, confidentiality and the safeguarding on vulnerable adults, undertake organisation induction and appropriate role based training, assist by helping to raise awareness about the project and our organisation, attend volunteer supervision meetings, , Hours can be discussed with the project coordinator and the client involved.,  ,  , , Skills and qualifications needed: Skills required for this role are@, , motivated and reliable, good communication and listening skills, sense of humour, understand the needs of older people, patience and sensitivity, understanding of client confidentiality, , Additional Information: Age UK Gateshead will repay any agreed expenses such as bus fares, on production of receipts for all of our volunteers.  We agree to pay 40p per mile towards the cost of mileage, this will be paid on a monthly basis for all authorised journeys undertaken by car.
