Whickham Wind rehearsals

Whickham Wind Band welcomes players of all ages and abilities who play wind band instruments, including woodwind, brass, percussion, guitar and keyboard.
We’re an inclusive, friendly community group for anyone who enjoys ensemble music‑making.

Areas Covered

We are based in Gateshead, with members travelling from Newcastle, County Durham, Sunderland and surrounding towns.

Rehearsal Times

• Friday evenings
• Arrive: 7.15pm
• Begin: 7.30pm
• Finish: 9.30pm

We take a tea break halfway through.
Refreshments are available — we simply ask for a small donation when supplies need replenishing.
Please bring your own cup.
 

Rehearsal Pattern

Rehearsals follow school term times, with breaks at Christmas, Easter and during the summer.

Cost

Annual Subscription

• £60 annually (preferred, paid directly into the bands bank account each January)
  or
• £5 per month by standing order

New Members Joining Mid‑Year

• Pro‑rata annual fee (preferred, paid directly into the bands bank account)
  or
• £5 per month by standing order

Visitors & Students

Contributions are voluntary.

Financial Support

We do not want payment to be a barrier to playing.
If you are finding it difficult to pay, please speak privately to the Band Secretary.
