The Northern Cancer Alliance – a team of passionate people working together to improve cancer care across the North East and North Cumbria.

Whether it’s helping people get diagnosed earlier, supporting them through treatment, or making sure they have the right care afterwards, we’re here to make a difference. We bring together NHS organisations, local authorities, charities, and people with lived experience to shape services that work for everyone.

The Northern Cancer Alliance is one of several Cancer Alliances across England, set up by NHS England to lead the way in transforming cancer services. We cover the North East and North Cumbria – a region with a proud history of innovation and collaboration.

We work with the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) a partnership of organisations that provide health and care services across our region. Our role is to support local teams to deliver the best possible cancer care, reduce inequalities, and make sure patients and families are at the heart of everything we do.

We work with a broad range of stakeholders:

  • NHS England – including the National Cancer Programme
  • NENC Provider Collaborative
  • NENC ICB
