The Loop Project

The Loop Project is an initiative in West Gateshead, in the process of being set up (July 2024) as a Community Incorporated Organisation (CIO).   We are actively looking (July 2024) to recruit interested people who would be willing to be charity trustees.

Our mission is to:

1. Promote sustainable development for the benefit of the community of West Gateshead by:
   promoting repair of household items as a cost-effective alternative to buying new, extending
   product lifespans, minimising waste, realising economic benefits and encouraging behavioural
   change
2. Provide regular local volunteer events offering free/low-cost repair of items sourced from the
   community and/or local HWRC sites, sharing knowledge and resources to develop skills,
   confidence and relationships
3. Advance and extend the concept of repair by researching innovative approaches, techniques
   and technologies, sharing outcomes locally through show-and-tell meetings and online via global
   communities
