In January 2018 the Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle will be embarking upon the challenge of a lifetime; trekking through Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a tropical adventure-land, renowned for its towering volcanoes, tropical rainforests and exotic wildlife. This nine-day trip includes six days of trekking; exploring lush jungle terrain, trekking to the top of picture perfect volcanoes, seeing stunning, crashing waterfalls and swimming in celestial blue pools, as well as a quick dip in the Pacific Ocean from Playa Hermosa (literally ‘Beautiful Beach’) at the end of the challenge.
Trekking for the Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle will help Marie Curie to continue providing expert care, guidance and support for people living with a terminal illness, and their families.
To find out more about the trek, contact your local Marie Curie, community fundraiser Katie on 0191 219 1205 or Katie.email@example.com. You can also join us at one of our information evenings at the Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle for a slice of cake and a cuppa to hear first-hand from past trekkers about how they have fundraised and trained for their challenge. You’ll also find out a bit more about the exciting Costa Rica trek, get some sneak peeks of the incredible scenery you will be trekking through and see exactly where the money you raise will be going.
‘Our Hospice treks are a fantastic way to raise money for the hospice, and the fundraising team are there to support you every step of the way with fundraising ideas and training tips. People take on a personal challenge and become part of a supportive team who then become great friends. Everyone shows such determination and it is clear to see how much they enjoy it. I hope that many more people will get in touch to find out about this challenge.’ – Katie Searles, Community Fundraiser.
