Whickham Volunteer Library is looking for volunteers to join our Board of Trustees to help lead the Association in developing our services within the community and securing funding to enable the library to remain open.

We are looking for 3 enthusiastic people who can commit a few hours each month to make our Trustee numbers up to 12.

Skills needed

Our aim is to have a diverse board of Trustees who represent the area and the people who use the Library.

No specific skills or experience is necessary but ideally applicants will live or work in or close to Whickham and the library.

Our board comes from many different backgrounds – what we share is a passion for our library and its continuing existence for our community.

Whilst this is an unpaid role, your role as a Trustee can provide you with a good deal of experience and satisfaction and use any of your expertise and knowledge to benefit our local community.

We are keen to welcome people from all backgrounds with a broad range of experience. We are especially keen to hear from anyone with experience in bid writing, fundraising and media skills.
