Community Garden Assistant

Description of what will be involved: 

General maintenance of a fruit, vegetable, and herb garden.
General maintenance of the garden surrounds – responsibilities may include painting, tidying, basic upkeep of bamboo screening, etc.
Compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Opportunity Location: 
Skills and qualifications needed: 

Enthusiastic about working in a garden and/or allotment.
Able to relate to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Willing to undertake appropriate training
Honest, reliable, and trustworthy, and able to make a regular commitment to volunteering.
Prepared to work within all of Gateshead Older People’s Assembly’s policies and procedures.

Additional Information: 

Gateshead Older People’s Assembly maintains a dementia-friendly community garden and also has an allotment in Deckham. Community garden assistants will assist in the general maintenance of our garden and allotment
