We are the Tyneside Beekeepers Association (TBKA), an open community of beekeepers and enthusiasts based in the North East of England. We are an affiliated association of the British Beekeeping Association (BBKA) and can offer advice and training on beekeeping, gardening for honeybees and pollinators and much more!

We sell a variety of local hive produce (honey, beeswax, candles etc) and merchandise from our club apiary which is based at Saltwell Park. The funds we raise as volunteers go back into our club and help to cover the purchase of new beekeeping equipment and maintenance costs.

In the spring and summer, we are at the park most weekends (weather permitting). Please see our Facebook group for details of current and upcoming events. We can offer taster sessions if you want to loan a bee suit (children bee suits are also available) and join us for a hive inspection of our local honeybees.

Our monthly member meetings which feature guest speakers, demonstrations and training sessions are on the last Tuesday of each month from September – May. During the swarming season we pause for meetings as many of our members are also local swarm collectors and will be busy.

You can find a local swarm collector using the BBKA swarm collector webpage which will provide you with their general location and contact information: https://www.bbka.org.uk/find-a-local-swarm-collector

We offer several membership options depending on whether you keep bees or are just interested in supporting the club and joining us at the club apiary. Under 18's are welcome at all our meetings and events at no charge. Please get in touch for more details if you would like to join.
