The Tyne Theatre & Opera House offers the best in Music, Comedy and Theatre. The theatre itself is a Grade 1 listed building rated in the top 4% of listed buildings by English Heritage and has been afforded a the three star rating, the highest available, by the Theatres Trust, branded as "a very fine theatre of the highest theatrical and architectural quality".

As well as comedy and music, the theatre hosts a diverse programme including ‘in conversation’ discussions, popular theatre shows and musicals, ballet and opera productions, as well as a variety of other events.
