We are the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We help people out of homelessness and campaign for the changes needed to solve it altogether.
All of us need a decent home – to be healthy and to thrive. Currently though, this basic human need isn’t being met for so many people across the UK. This is unacceptable.
At Crisis we work side by side with thousands of people each year as they find ways out of homelessness. We provide practical support to help people access benefits, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and more.
Our main aim is to relieve the huge pressure of homelessness, by helping people find safe and affordable homes as quickly as possible.
Christmas opening times:
This year, our bespoke Christmas offer will create opportunities to enhance member’s skills and develop long-term solutions to gain independence at Christmas, and to build their life beyond homelessness. We will raise awareness of support within the community, provide a food ‘recipe kit’ with Christmas meal ingredients, and gift a Christmas hamper including clothing, toiletries, and wellbeing items.
To complement this offer, we will increase our cooking sessions, deliver budgeting sessions, and support members to access local stores. To ensure our members have a social community around them during the festive period, we will be offering a range of engaging activities throughout December and into the new year.
We will be working alongside a team of dedicated volunteers to help us deliver Crisis at Christmas in Newcastle.
