Ryton Community Library is a popular library centrally located in Ryton. It is housed in the lower ground floor of Ryton Methodist Church, accessed from Hexham Old Road (corner of Oli and Joe's restaurant) and has its own entrance in the lane opposite the Ryton Deli.
We stock a range of children's and adults' fiction and non-fiction books as well as large-print and audio books. There is public computer access and wi-fi is available.
The library benefits from a pleasant courtyard garden with a seating area.
Our opening hours are:
Monday - Saturday: 9.30am to 12.30pm
The library is run by a group of volunteers (Ryton Community Library Volunteer Association) working with Gateshead Council to provide the service in Ryton. The Council is continuing to meet the costs of renting the building from Ryton Methodist Church as well as providing the books and computer. The library volunteers are running the service.
We aim to provide a friendly service to our community and we always welcome additional volunteers who will benefit from support and training. Please contact our library for more information.
