The Redheughers Ceilidh Band is a long established country dance band co-operative, led and tutored by Robin Dunn. We meet, practise and play every Tuesday throughout the year. The band perform regularly, playing for Tyneside Ceilidh Club on the first Tuesday of each month, and also provide dance music and a caller for private functions.

We offer opportunities for people with some musical ability to:

  • Experience the discipline of playing together in a band
  • Develop skills and expertise in musical execution
  • Learn a wide repertoire of dance tunes, including jigs, reels, hornpipes, waltzes, two-steps and "fillers"

The Redheughers are available to play for parties, weddings and charity events. We provide everything for a super ceilidh - caller, band and sound equipment. We are a large band but can bring a smaller group to suit your venue and occasion.

Every Tuesday evening (except for the first Tuesday in each month) we meet for our practice sessions at the Central Bar, Half Moon Lane, Gateshead, NE8 2AN, which start at 7pm and finish at 9pm.

On the first Tuesday in the month, we play regularly for a ceilidh, currently held at St Aidan's Community Centre, Brunton Park.  Find out more about the ceilidhs by visiting Tyneside Ceilidh Club's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100088414267642. or contact us to be added to the mailing list.

We are a very friendly bunch, and give new members a  warm welcome.

If you would like to join us, contact us via our website (link above) - or just come along to one of our practice sessions.
