Here is a great opportunity for young people 16 – 25 who have not had experience of classical singing and might not read music. It is free with free travel and accommodation to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.

The BBC Proms Youth Choir Academy, in partnership with Sage Gateshead and the North East Music Education Hubs are inviting young people aged 16-25 from the North East to perform with a huge choir of massed voices at the world famous BBC Proms.
Singers from all musical backgrounds are invited, they do not need to be able to read music to be part of the Academy, but they need to have a love of singing and a voice with potential.
The Academy is free to join and travel and accommodation expenses are included.
The deadline for applications is Friday 9 March at 10am.
Successful applicants will be invited to a free workshop and selection day on Saturday 24 March (times tbc) at Sage Gateshead. The day will offer applicants the chance to meet the team and each other and have a go at singing as a group in a fun, relaxed and friendly setting.
