Our Gateshead

Open day news

We held our open day today. Thank you to those who ventured out despite the weather, and our helpers who got wet. The Deputy Mayor came and declared our new bug home, the Creepy Castle open. Visitors enjoyed meeting the new baby goats on an Open allotment. We made £130 from various sales, which will be spent on improvements. We hope people will come and visit us again.

Our day was marred at the start by discovering thieves had broken in and stolen our petrol mower and petrol strimmer, even taking the hasp and lock. They obviously knew where they were and came prepared. It was reported to police. Unfortunately we can't afford to replace them.

We will be holding another open day in the summer. If you couldn't make this one, come to the next.
