Gateshead's Community Furniture Charity is Helping More People in Hardship.
From Monday (3rd June 2019) Foundations Furniture is making changes so that they can help any Gateshead resident who is experiencing hardship and struggling to afford furniture.
Since 1996, the charity has supported thousands of people in Gateshead to create safe, settled and comfortable home lives during times of financial struggle. To ensure the charity is supporting as many people as possible, including those experiencing in-work poverty and debt for example, receiving a benefit is no longer the only criteria for accessing support.
If you are struggling financially, please call Foundations on 0191 4778337 or visit the shop at the Teams Craft Workshops, Askew Road West, Teams, NE8 2PB between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
The charity will continue to have items that anyone can buy - including the high quality, affordable brand-new beds and mattresses that are available in-store. You can also support the charity by purchasing items from Facebook Marketplace where they sell a fantastic range of vintage items. Sales from new beds and items on Marketplace help Foundations to raise vital funds so that they can continue to support thousands of local people in need each year.
For Facebook Marketplace - go to Marketplace and search for "Foundations Furniture".
Foundations is a registered charity (1090034) that collects unwanted, usable furniture and electrical items from across Tyne and Wear to help Gateshead residents in hardship who struggle to afford to furnish their homes. We also provide opportunities for local people to volunteer to stay connected, gain new skills and experience, and to help support the community. To find out more, visit our website www.foundationsfurniture.co.uk, or call 0191 4778337.
