FREE “Health Check” from the NHS diabetes prevention programme

This April (1st - 7th), The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) is holding the second Diabetes Prevention Week to raise awareness of their Healthier You programme.

On Friday 5th April you will be able to call into Gateshead Council Civic Centre main reception area where the NHS diabetes prevention programme will be offering people a free “Health Check” which will include calculating BMI and by using the Diabetes UK Know your Risk Score identify if people are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

Anyone identified will get a letter to take to their GP practice for consideration and opportunity to join the programme.

This is a free service run by NHS England to help reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
