Advocacy on the Wards
Have you or someone you know been affected by Cancer?
Gateshead Advocacy on the Wards project may be able to help you!
A new Advocacy Service is now available to support you to make informed choices and decisions about treatment and care currently available.
We can help you find out whatever you need to know from cancer specific enquiries through to what practical help is available locally for people aged over 50.
Advocacy offers support to people to enable them to:• Express their views• Ask for what they want and need• Obtain services to which they are entitled• Stand up for their interests• Safeguard their entitlements
“supporting older people through the cancer pathway”
The service is free, independent, non-judgmental and confidential.
This new pilot project is funded by The Big Lottery Silver Dreams Fund. If you’d like to find out more, please contact us for further information – details overleaf.
