Gateshead Harvest and Help

Harvest and Help Enterprise  is a Gateshead Council initiative, this is an assessed service  that offers adults with learning disabilities and autism the opportunity to gain vocational  experience  in a horticultural setting.  The enterprise is based on a beautiful allotment where the team members enjoy growing plants, vegetables  and produce hanging baskets,  bird boxes and other seasonal projects. They also offer a ground maintenance service to private and commercial  clients that has led to some of its members moving into self employment. Harvest and Help enables people to develop their  independence through its activities leading to friendships and community involvement.
