Gateshead Arts team delivers an Arts programme across Gateshead.

We organise performances, workshops, exhibitions, events, public art and festivals utilising our local cultural venues, schools and within Gateshead's historical locations, community settings, parks and outdoor spaces.

We run community based and social interest projects, ranging from school support, to healthy eating education, to teenage pregnancy focused initiatives, female empowerment, to raising aspirations alongside supporting local, regional and international artists, old and new.

Our programme covers all art forms, from dance to textiles, drama to music, painting to den making - our activities are designed to be inclusive of all ages and abilities.

We raise external funding for our projects, each year to maximise the opportunities we can provide in Gateshead and often work in partnership with other services and organisations.

We often work with our partners to ensure Gateshead features in the regional offer of cultural events, for example Juice festival for young people, The Late Shows culture crawl, GIFT festival's inclusion of up and coming regional performers and the Winter Festival with Enchanted Parks in Saltwell Park.

Across the borough we have over 80 astounding pieces of public art that Gateshead proudly boasts including our famous Angel of the North.
