Our Gateshead

Friends of Windy Nook Nature Park

About us:

Our group has been formed to enhance the local nature reserve at Windy Nook. We work alongside the council to make the park a safer and a more enjoyable place to visit by planting wild flower plug plants, litter picking and by general tidying of the area. We also put up nest boxes and bat boxes on the park.

Part of our work is to secure funding to enable us to carry out projects on the park and we have recently put in 100 metres of hawthorn hedge to encourage more wildlife into the area. We are looking into funding a clear out of our small pond to bring it back to what it used to be years ago.

We are always looking for new members to help, you can contact the group by email at garner247@blueyonder.co.uk
