My Guide

180,000 people in the UK find it difficult to leave their homes independently, because of sight loss. The charity, Guide Dogs, is aiming to change that, because we believe no one with sight loss should be left out of life. That is where My Guide comes in!

We match fully trained volunteer sighted buddies, with people with sight loss, to help them get out and about doing the things they want to, need to and deserve to, in their local community.

The sighted buddy role is flexible, fun and fulfilling because you know you are making a positive difference to someone's life. We only ask sighted buddies to give up a couple of hours a week, half a day a fortnight or one day a month, so the role can fit into YOUR lifestyle.
