Lit Advent candles in Whitehall Road Methodist Church, Gateshead

We wish you a very happy Christmas, and warmly invite you to slip into the mood of the season at our annual Carols by Candlelight service.

Join us for traditional carols such as 'O come all ye faithful', 'Hark! The herald-angels sing' and 'Once in royal David's city', along with some newer carols to learn and enjoy, and bible readings which lead us to the birth of Jesus Christ. Please note that an entirely voluntary offering will be taken during the carol service.

(It is with regret that our previously announced guest soloist, Ravenswood Singers' mezzo-soprano Catherine Herdman, is suffering from a heavy cold and sinusitis and will not be able to perform).

After the service, complimentary refreshments (mince pies, shortbread, mulled wine, tea, coffee etc) will be served in the church, giving you the opportunity to explore the surroundings and take in the atmosphere.

All of this year's Christmas carol services can be seen here.

We advise those who have difficulties reading in dim light should bring a torch. The church is completely wheelchair accessible. We have our own private car park and plenty of free on-street parking surrounding the church.
