By volunteering for this role you are directly supporting Barmoor Hub to open and operate safely, providing an invaluable service to the communities who use the building.

Barmoor Hub is a busy community venue serving the communities of Ryton, Crawcrook and surrounding areas.  You will play a key part in helping us strive to be inclusive for people of all ages in a safe and welcoming environment and to provide a programme of activities to promote the physical and emotional well-being of the local community.

Tasks for this role include:

  • Health & Safety regular walk around.
  • Carrying out odd jobs and small repairs.
  • Litter picking outside of centre
  • Leaf clearing.
  • Salting pavements.
  • Alerting staff or the Committee to any urgent issues.

This is a flexible role and times can be mutually agreed.

Appropriate safety guidance and support will be provided regarding carrying out the checks.

Volunteering is a hugely valuable role for Barmoor Hub and this should be a rewarding experience for the volunteers and will be invaluable to the communities we support.

Skills needed

Attention to detail.
Some prior knowledge of Health and Safety is beneficial but not necessary.
Your input on improving the role - we’re happy for you to make this role your own and make suggestions for its improvement.
