St Mary's Heritage Group, Gateshead

St Mary's Heritage Group is a constituted group of local people who have an interest in the history of St Mary's Church and in preserving its heritage. St Mary's Church – now St Mary’s Heritage Centre – is the oldest building on the Quayside and the oldest church in Gateshead. Because of this it is regarded as a building of major historical significance.  By simply becoming a member of St Mary’s Heritage Group you will be supporting the building and its activities, but you may want to become further involved – it’s entirely up to you!

We have a programme of events which includes monthly talks and coffee mornings, open to non members as well as members. We also have a number of volunteering opportunities. 

Annual membership costs £5. This entitles you to receive advance notice of events, special offers, a quarterly newsletter as well as being involved in some members only events. Join us and help support the work which is done in this wonderful building.
