Ukulele Lessons

Ukes are a great way to introduce younger children to music. They’re smaller than a guitar and so are easier for smaller hands to hold and play. They’re also relatively cheap for parents to buy to start their child off in music lessons. And for Students wishing to switch to guitar lessons later, all of the skills learned in our Ukulele Lessons can easily be transferred across.

But they’re not just for kids – Ukulele Lessons are a popular instrument choice for many adults looking for something fairly simple to pick up and start their musical education. Classes are available for both children and adults, and all levels of ability are catered for.

FAQ

There are several different sizes of ukulele – which size do I need?

Which size do you want to play?! There are 4 main sizes of ukulele – Soprano, concert, tenor and baritone. The Soprano is the smallest of the 4 and the most popular size to play. But don’t worry if you have another size – our teachers can teach all sizes of ukulele!

Can I sit ukulele exams?

Yes, you can! We currently use the RGT exam syllabus with our ukulele Students, which offers officially-accredited exams for ukulele players.

Do I need to bring my own ukulele to my lesson?

We do have a few spare ukuleles in the Studio for Students who have forgotten their instrument or who may want to try out a few lessons before buying, but we’d recommend you buy an instrument soon after starting your lessons so that you can practise at home. Ukuleles are cheap and can be bought for as little as £20! If you’re unsure what you’re looking for, speak to us and we’ll be able to guide you.
