Timebank - Skills needed!

Timebank is Age Concern Gateshead’s good neighbour scheme for Gateshead residents of all ages.Timebank members use their skills to help others and receive a Timebank credit for every hour they give. Credits can then be ‘cashed-in’ for help from other members.

At the Timebank we always welcome new members of all ages and with all types of skills to share.

You might think that you have nothing to offer but remember that the things you do everyday, without even thinking about them, could be a big help to someone else. For example, you could get a bit of extra shopping for a neighbour while you're doing yours or knit some baby clothes for a working mum.

You don't have to give much time (even a couple of hours a month is fine) and you could be making a huge difference to another Timebank member's life.

At the moment we also have Timebank members who particularly need the following types of help:

  • Gardening
  • Visiting for a cuppa and a chat
  • Help getting to the shops

For more information about the help you could give AND receive contact Clare Cook on 0191 4773559 or email timebank@ageconcerngateshead.org.uk
