Contact a Family North East

Contact a Family supports parent/carers who have children with any disability or additional need aged 0 to 19. How we help:

•             Answering enquiries – we provide information on a range of issues including specific condition information and their related support networks

•             Publications – we produce fact sheets and booklets on issues such as benefits, aids and equipment, education, family issues and holidays.

•             Local information – we send out regional newsletters on a quarterly basis and also produce regular email bulletins to let people know about activities, events and news

•             Linking families – we enable parent/carers to get in contact with other families both on a local and national basis and we also have a web linking service

•             Parent participation – we are committed to empowering parent/carers and helping them to become involved in shaping local services

•             Workshops and events – we run workshops for parent/carers on issues such as siblings, benefits and wills and trusts
