Oaktrees Gateshead is a 12 Step, abstinence based treatment centre for people over the age of 18 who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. The service can be accessed by residents of Gateshead, Newcastle and Sunderland. Oaktrees has 3 other branches in North Tyneside, York and Blyth.

Since opening in 2009, Oaktrees has helped hundreds of clients get into recovery from alcoholism and drug abuse and go on to live a life free from addiction.

Clients attend from 9.00am - 4.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and on Tuesdays 9.00am - 1.30pm.

An integral part of treatment is that clients attend at least three Alcoholic Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous Fellowship meetings outside the normal office hours.

An essential element to a clients treatment here is that of peer support, group therapy and one to one counselling. Primary treatment lasts 12 weeks, and clients  will then move into our continuing care group, which can be accessed for up to one year.
